STATEMENT OF FAITH

1.            We believe that the Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, is the plenary verbally inspired Word of God and is inerrant in the original writings to be upheld as the supreme and final authority in faith and life.   II Timothy 3:16 and II Peter 1:21.

2.            We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, equal in every divine perfection, and executing distinct but harmonious offices in the great work of redemption. Mark 12:29, John 4:24, 14:9, Psalms 135:6, Psalms 18:30, Psalms 145:5, Deuteronomy 33:27, John 5:26, Matthew 28:19, II Corinthians 13:14, John 5:23 and Acts 5:3-4.

3.            We believe that Jesus Christ incarnate was begotten of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and is true God and true man. John 1:1-3; John 3:16, Galatians 1:16.

4.            We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine person possessing all the attributes of personality and of deity, by whom believers are called, regenerated, baptized into the body of Christ, indwelt, sealed, and filled for service. The distinction between the ministry of the Holy Spirit in the Old and New Testament dispensations must be recognized, i.e.; there is a new and unique work of the Holy Spirit in relation to the body of Christ in the New Testament for which there is no Old Testament parallel. I Corinthians 6: 19, 12:13, Ephesians 4:30, Romans 8:14 and John 14:26.

5.            We believe in the personal existence of angels - the faithful ministers of God, and the fallen angels, demons, and Satan. The unholy god of this world and the author of all the powers of darkness, is destined to the judgment of eternal punishment in the lake of fire. Ezekiel 28:13-17, Isaiah 14:13-14, I Timothy 3:7 and Revelation 20:10.

6.            We believe the Genesis account of creation, including the direct creation of man in God's image apart from any process of evolution. Genesis 1:26-28, 2:7, 18-24, Matthew 19:4 and I Thessalonians 5:23.

7.            We believe that man was created in the image of God, man sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death, but also spiritual death which is separation from God; and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature. Genesis 3:1-24, 5:3, Ephesians 2:3, Romans 3:23, Romans 5:12.

8.            We believe that salvation of sinners is wholly of grace through the work of the Lord Jesus Christ. He died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice. All who believe in Him are justified on the basis of His shed blood and are in possession of a salvation, which is eternally secure. Romans 3:24-26, Romans 5:6, I Corinthians 15:1-3 and Ephesians 1:7.

9.            We believe the new birth is a new creation in Christ Jesus; that it is a supernatural work wrought by the Holy Spirit in connection with divine truth, and thereby all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ become children of God. Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:8-9, John 1:12 and Romans 10:9-10.

10.         We believe in the unity of all true believers in the Church, which is the body of Christ, and that this is a distinctively New Testament organism. We believe in the local church as a company of baptized believers associated by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the Gospel, independent and self-governing, which should fellowship with other churches of like faith and order. It is the responsibility of the local church to observe the ordinances of baptism and the Lord's Supper, edifying itself, and to evangelize the world. Acts 2:41-42, Ephesians 4:11, Matthew 28:19-20, I Timothy 3:1-13, Acts 8:36-39, Matthew 3:16, I Corinthians 11:23-28.

11.         We believe Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water to show forth symbolically our faith in the crucified, buried, risen Saviour, with its effect in our death to sin and resurrection to a new life; and that it is a prerequisite for church membership. We believe the Lord's Supper is the commemoration of His death until He comes, and should be preceded always by solemn self-examination. Romans 6:4, Colossians 2: 12, Acts 2:41-42, Romans 8:32, Matthew 26:26-30.

12.         We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His ascension into Heaven, and in His present ministry there for us as High Priest and Advocate. I Corinthians 15:35-58; Acts 1:8.

13.         We believe that the personal return of our Lord Jesus Christ to catch up His people to meet Him in the air is imminent; i.e., that the rapture of all believers will precede the 70th Week of Daniel, commonly referred to as the Tribulation. We believe in the personal and bodily return of our Lord Jesus Christ to set up His Kingdom upon earth, and this will take place following the Tribulation. Acts 1:11, Revelation 1:7, Titus 2:11-13, I Thessalonians 4:16-18, Revelation 19:1-20.

14. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead, both of the just and the unjust; the saved to everlasting blessedness in full enjoyment of God's presence in Heaven, and the lost to everlasting conscious punishment in Hell eternally separated from God.  Philippians 1:21-23, II Corinthians 5:8, I John 3:2, Luke 16:19-31, II Peter 2:9 and Revelation 20:11-15.
